Carolyn Boydston, Equine Artist

The CAWDA would like to extend a special Thank You to artist and CAWDA member Carolyn Boydston for donating the Grand Prize for our Horse Expo drawing.
Horse Head 007 The beautiful, to-be hand painted sculpture was won by Cynthia Collins.

Carolyn and sculptor Kitty Cantrell have received numerous awards for their work, and were selected to craft the prestigious Vox Populi award, which is given in honor of great Thoroughbred race horses.  The bronze bust that Kitty and Carolyn designed was of Secretariat, and was awarded to the owners of Zenyatta.

The CAWDA encourages all visitors to our site to visit Carolyn’s website athttp://whitehorsestudios.net/ and her Facebook page athttps://www.facebook.com/Boydston.WhiteHorseStudios. Caroline has pictures of the beautiful art work she has done.  Contact her to commission a masterpiece of your favorite equine friend!

Attention Trainers And Judges:  Join the CaWDA Trainers Network!

The California Western Dressage Association would like to thank all our California trainers and judges who support Western Dressage.  In alignment with our new organization, we are committed to starting the California Western Dressage Trainers Network.  The Network will be comprised of professional horse trainers and judges.  It will serve as a forum for rule change discussions, requests, Western Dressage standards and practices; it will suggest and promote professional education, including assisting in organizing the WDAA Train the Trainers clinics; and it will drive the growth of Western Dressage in California.

We would like to invite all Western Dressage trainers, clinicians, and judges to participate, and we would like to invite trainers from other disciplines to join us as well.

If you are interested in the Trainers Network, please tell us at CAWDA-Trainers@cawda.org.

For Show Managers, Promoters and Horse Club Officers

Are you planning your 2015 show schedule?  Consider holding some Western Dressage shows or classes in combination with your dressage shows, open shows, breed shows and events.  The California Western Dressage Association will help you promote through our websites and mailings, and provide you with any information you may need to have a successful show.

In addition, the California Western Dressage Association is offering a 2015 high point award program for CAWDA-approved shows.  Please contact us if you would like us to include your show series.   We would like to nominate as many qualifying shows statewide as possible so that our members have more opportunities to accumulate points.
